Winter Work

Sunset at the Homestead
Recovering from another winter storm...does not look like this anymore.  K is out plowing with the tractor...definately glad we have it up and running this year!  I have been working on the garden plan and organizing seeds and getting anxious to start some seedlings!!!  I think it is a bit tooo early...just want to get my hands in the dirt!!!  Looking forward to Spring!

What will I fill this with this Spring?  Any thoughts/ suggestions or ideas?  Feel free to share.

Hanging out

This was last week...they won't be doing that today.  I think there is about 2 feet of snow in the field at the moment...they are calling for rain this weekend so should make for a good mess!!

January 4th 2014...time flies.  Thank you to all our friends and family for a wonderful 2013.  We met alot of new friends and have gotten to know our community even better.  Having our farmstand at the Riverhouse Rug Hooking and Fibre Art studio was a great experience and we thank Jane for letting us share her space...we look forward to this summer!!

Speaking of summer... we got hit with a big snowstorm yesterday and it was a great day to catch up on house "stuff" that never gets done because there is always something else to do.  I have all the seeds pretty much ordered and delivered so now just have to plan the garden out and dream of what I will put in the greenhouse...once it defrosts.
Frozen Greenhouse...

The temperatures have been ccccold...minus 20!  We are cuddled by the woodstove and cozy...a little stressful for our chickens though! K has been hard at work today playing...I mean working on the tractor and plowing us out...

Smarty Pants is also enjoying the indoor his new spot at the "lookout" window.  I don't think that he is very comfortable...
